
Dr. Jim C. BrasfieldDr. Jim Brasfield is a renowned neurosurgeon board certified by the American Board of Neurologic Surgery. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee, and was Chief Resident at Baptist Memorial Hospital Department of Neurosurgery. Dr. Brasfield has established a unique reputation as a specialist in the treatment of work-related injuries. Many of his patients are physically active and are involved in physical labor. Dr. Brasfield is keenly aware of his patients? need for restoration of their previous performance level, and strives to acheive that goal through innovative surgical techniques and other treatment modalities.
Dr. Fred W. TerryDr. Fred Terry is a physiatrist who joins Bristol Neurosurgical/TriCities Spine from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Terry earned his undergraduate degree at Mountain State University in Beckley, WV, and his medical degree at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV. At TriCities Spine, Dr. Terry will evaluate and manage patients with musculoskeletal injuries, including back and neck pain. He specializes in electrodiagnostic testing which aids in the diagnosis of conditions that cause pain, weakness, and sensory abnormalities. His focus will be on optimizing function through the combined use of medications, physical modalities, physical and occupational therapy, and interventional spine injections.
Trish Ann Cook, Physician Assistant-CTrish Cook, PA-C, has been a Physician Assistant with Bristol Neurosurgical Associates for 10 years. Trish is a graduate of East Tennessee State University, and received her Physician Assistant training in Roanoke, Virginia. As a Physician Assistant, Trish serves as a bridge between Dr. Brasfield and his patients, streamlining the delivery of patient care. Trish assists with surgical procedures, performs initial and post-op examinations, offers extensive patient education, is responsive to the immediate needs of the patient, and assures consistency in the overall treatment plan.
Mark Mehlferber, Physician Assistant-CMark Mehlferber has been a Physician Assistant with Bristol Neurosurgical for over four years. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and his Bachelor of Science in Medicine from the University of Florida, where he also received his Physician Assistant Medical Training and Certification. He earned a Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies with specialization in orthopedic surgery from the University of Nebraska. Mark helps with evaluation of patients, responding to patient enquiries and assisting in surgical procedures.
Jo Wolff, Workers' Compensation SupervisorJo Wolff has been on staff at Bristol Neurosurgical for 11 years. She is familiar with all phases of the practice. She has phone, fax and email address dedicated solely to workers' compensation. Jo has attended several continuing education programs regarding workers' compensation, and maintains associate memberships with case management groups, as well as the VSIA. She has completed tours of local industries.
Mr. McMurry has been the practice administrator for BNA since 2001. As a CPA/MBA and full partner of Blackburn, Childers, and Stegall of Johnson City, TN, he provides professional administrative guidance for Bristol Neurosugical Associates.
Cindy Bevins, Director of Practice DevelopmentCindy Bevins joined Bristol Neurosurgical Associates/TriCities Spine July 1st 2009 as the Director of Practice Development. She graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in corporate finance and investments. Her background is in Finance and Marketing. Cindy oversees all marketing and public relations efforts and coordinates physician events.
Lori Johnson, Director of FinanceLori Johnson joined Bristol Neurosurgical in January of 2008. She oversees and manages the billing and collections department. Lori is a Certified Professional Coder and a Certified Professional Medical Auditor. She is currently the Treasurer/Secretary for the local AAPC chapter for 2009.
Melena Tester, Director of Front OfficeMelena Tester has been with Bristol Neurosurgical since 2008. She supervises patient check in, check out and scheduling.
Amy FerrellAmy Ferrell works in the front office. She checks patients into the office and helps with administrative duties.
